Yesterday, we had apple pie for dessert (Small Batch Baking) and apple-cinnamon-raisin oatmeal for breakfast.
Thursday we made Spiced Apple Cookies (delicious).
Wednesday we made Baked Apple Rice Pudding, which is absolutely delicious.
Tuesday, we made apple crisp.
Are you sensing a theme?
The property came with an apple tree, which hasn’t been maintained in a while. It’s putting out about a zillion apples (I’ll be canning applesauce & apple butter), smallish tart apples. So far, we’re really just putting a dent in the windfall fruit.

ysabetwordsmith has posted her Fishbowl Summary. I really love “Full Stop”; I also enjoy “Haunts of History”, which she wrote to my prompt.
lilfluff has posted a sequel to Sweet Iced Tea, set in the Tir na Cali ‘verse.
And clare_dragonfly has added more to “Harvest Day”, which she wrote from my prompt.

If you’re getting aplles then there’s probably another tree nearby. Is that yours too or is it a neighbours?
We have two sad little apples in the hedgerow, We’re also going to plant two more this spring.
My recipe for pear pie filling also works with apples: http://ysabetwordsmith.livejournal.com/361694.html Thanks for the signal boost on my poems, too.
Oh, that sounds tasty. Thank you! Lovely poems this time. I really enjoyed them.
I’m glad you liked the poems this month. It was a really lively fishbowl.
Hee, lively ghosts!
Oh nom! I love the apples that grow in your area!
We have a really good area for apples. That, and grapes
Hmm. The theme was dessert, right? :} I’ve got a sort of love/hate thing for yards and trees. I’m glad the apartment complex handles all the yard work as I do not miss mowing lawns at all, but it would be nice to have the fresh citrus again. But if I ever live in a house again I’ll go desert landscaping with drip lines to handle the watering. Thank you for the signal boost.
Apple icon?
Hee, apples!
Oh yay, apples! Um, I am mostly over being sick, and getting caught up and reading very old entries… I love apples, and think your tree sounds lovely.
Today we’re making applesauce. Tomorrow we’re making applesauce… *cough*
Thankfully applesauce makes good gifts…
Is that a hint? I think that’s a hint.
*grins* It is!! I need to make another batch of jam, and pie, and cook a turkey. But I am never home on the weekends to cook…
*grins* We froze a pie base today, shall have to see how that works. If the applesauce doesn’t turn green in the jars, we will know we did it right. we got 7 quarts + some-to-eat out of this batch.
Mmmmmm, applesauce! Just as I got to the point of having a routine of cooking, I meet a guy and am not home on the weekends to cook.
(T. loves your jam…)
I like making jam! The strawberry and raspberry turned out nicely this year. I need to make blueberry next.
